About the Author |

Peter Schmitt’s first collection of poems, Country Airport, was published by Copper Beech in 1989. He is the recipient of the Peter I.B. Lavan Younger Poets Award from the Academy of American Poets (selected by Richard Wilbur), the “Discovery” / The Nation Prize for Poetry, and grants from the Florida Arts Council and the Ingram Merrill Foundation. His poems have appeared in such publications as The Nation, The Paris Review, Poetry and The Southern Review. He currently lives in his hometown of Miami. |
