Born in Miami in 1958, Peter Schmitt was educated at Amherst College, Cambridge University, and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His poems have appeared in such magazines as Poetry, The Quarterly, The Southern Review, and The Nation, which awarded him a 1988 Discovery Prize, and he recently received an Ingram Merrill Fellowship. He teaches at the University of Miami. |
